Goffo, a special section at NEXT, focusing on multiples, editions, artist books, prints and handmade objects, will host an exceptional curated selection of presses, artist collectives and small galleries.
The 2010 edition of Goffo is curated with Swimming Pool Project Space.
New Insight
An exhibition of top MFA students from some of the country's most influential graduate art programs, New Insight is curated by Susanne Ghez, director of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago. A platform for new talent and innovative ideas, New Insight provides the opportunity to view work by some of the brightest young minds working in diverse graduate programs across the country.
Project 35: iCI (Independent Curators International)
NEXT is pleased to screen video selections from iCI's Project 35 in the NEXT Talk Shop throughout the weekend. About Project 35: To celebrate iCI's 35th anniversary in 2010, thirty-five leading curators from all over the world have been invited to select one artist's video each, which they think is important, and should be seen by audiences across the globe now.
The Suburban presents Olof Olsson
In a special project initiated by The Suburban, Swedish artist Olof Olsson will offer "personal consultations" through answering questions and offering advice; no subject is too small or too big. The consultations are offered in English, German and the Scandinavian languages.
The Spanish Edge at NEXT: Young Spanish Art in Context
NEXT is pleased to present Spain's top emerging galleries in The Spanish Edge, a section designed to showcase the best in emerging Spanish art. Perfectly suited to NEXT’s emerging profile as an art fair focused on bringing new international talent to Chicago, The Spanish Edge will be complemented with special programming, like panel discussions, lectures and after parties, presented in association with cultural partners in the U.S. and Spain.
12 x 12: New Artists / New Work at NEXT
In conjunction with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the monthly exhibition series UBS 12 x 12: New Artists / New Work will be featured as a special project on the NEXT floor through the duration of the fair.
Club Nutz
Club Nutz is a website/tv show and a comedy/music label that's an actual club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. With a previous installation at Frieze, the Club Nutz experience will be recreated at NEXT. Club Nutz will take the form of a minature night club featuring a stage, bar, DJ booth, disco ball, lights, neon sign, bouncer, and velvet rope.
