New Insight
Art Chicago floor
An exhibition of top MFA students from some of the country's most influential graduate art programs, New Insight is curated by Susanne Ghez, director of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago. A platform for new talent and innovative ideas, New Insight provides the opportunity to view work by some of the brightest young minds working in diverse graduate programs across the country.
Partisan
Art Chicago floor
Carving out a critical space within the art fair context, Partisan is a special exhibition of works that explore social and political ideas or emerge as political actions in their own right. Culled from Art Chicago and NEXT galleries by independent curators Rachel Furnari and Karsten Lund, Partisan revisits the open question of the impact of politically-motivated art, while raising the possibility of finding diverse forms of political meaning where they are least expected
Survey America
Art Chicago (floorwide)
In this floor-wide exhibit Survey America, highly exceptional works throughout the fair created by American artists will be highlighted with a special plaque.
Florian Graf presented by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago
Art Chicago
Swiss born artist Florian Graf will present an intervention project for Art Chicago 2010, engaging with specific architectural and social surroundings. His work results from his interest in the psychological and emotional relationship of human beings with their environment and explores the different ways the architectural surrounding mentally and physically influences the spectator. For Art Chicago, he will create a space that is the origin and birthplace of some nomadic sculptures that will wonder through the fair.
